Website Overhaul

A website overhaul is pretty much exactly what it sounds like.  It's essentially a repair, but it's really a complete redesign of an existing site.  Every line of code is analyzed and optimized.  Images are retouched and optimized for web use.  The site is examined for compatibility with search engines.  Anything that doesn't look good is made to look great.  You may choose to do a graphic redesign as well, changing the entire look and feel of the site.

Because the site already exists and we have a place to start, an overhaul is usually less expensive than building a whole new site from scratch.  Most of the content can likely be salvaged, the images can likely be re-used (and moved around if you want).  The analogy of a car is appropriate.  It's easier to recondition an old car than to buy a cherry version of what you want.  You've got a chassis, engine, and all of the "guts" of the car, you just want to make sure it looks great and is safe to drive.  That's essentially what a website overhaul is; we're "tuning-up" your old site.

In some extreme cases, a site is so messed up that building a new site would be less expensive than reconditioning an old one.  We will offer you alternatives, but the less expensive route is usually the best (how many times are you going to hear that?) A redesign is usually preferable anyway, because you're restarting from square one, using tried-and-true content, with brand new code behind the scenes making sure it all works well.  We'll provide you with all of the options we can, and we'll give you the advantages and disadvantages of each.  Our goal is to give you the best website you can have, whether we originally designed it or not.
